Pirate Gold and Murder Story-line 

Mystery, adventure and Captain Morgan

Those who came up with this exciting murder mystery designed it specifically for those on a Caribbean cruise. Woven into the story are facts surrounding the life of Captain Morgan.

The Caribbean Sea, during the 17th as well as 18th centuries, was the center of pirate activities and a place of abundant gold. Plundering and pillaging were common in what is today known as Honduras and Belize. The city of Panama in those days, because of its abundance in gold, was the wealthiest city in the known world. Having so much gold makes the city a target for privateers, one such man known as Captain Henry Morgan ransacked the city and got away with a hoard of treasure and gold.

Eventually, Morgan, who was dying took it upon himself to create a treasure map that depicted the exact location of his fortune. The map indicated this location to be in Belize and was given to Morgan’s godsons, Henry Archbold and Charles Byndloss. This map, under mysterious circumstances, was torn into four sections. These pieces of the map traveled from owner to owner and place to place for many years.

Much later a Spanish explorer, Tray Sure came upon this story of Morgan and his treasure map. He was resolute in trying to find these pieces of the map, to bring them together and discover the location of the treasure. Unfortunately, he did not make it very far on his journey, as early one morning, his dead body was found in his room at the Scarlet Macaw Hotel. The room was turned
upside down, obviously, the murderer was searching for something he thought Tray had.

There was a diverse number of guests staying at the hotel, some of them talking freely about the treasure. Others were a bit more cautious in disclosing their views on the gold and about Sure’s fascination with the treasure. This murder mystery would even extend to involve international interest and investigation.

These detectives will have to find out who would want to kill Tray Sure and end his quest for treasure. The guilty party obviously stood by his own code of, ‘do to others, do it fast and make sure to complete it first’.
