Murder at the beach Story-line
Date: November 13, 1929
It is the day after the eleventh anniversary of the signing of the formal agreement to stop all fighting and ended World War One. There are always consequences during and after the war, the economy for one, will suffer and people struggle and fight for survival. Many of those who vie for power during these times make promises of a better future.
A celebration is being held on a private beach in Florida, on a secluded piece of land known as Lia
Island. Gathered together were a group of fellow comrades, who fought together for their countries and were wounded, during the World War. They were raising their glasses in a salute to each other.
These three soldiers when wounded and were taken to the same hospital to recover. There during
their time of healing, they became good friends. After the signing of the peace treaty, they made a
promise to each other, they would meet again after eleven years to commemorate their friendship.
They all agreed on a location, the Lia Island and beach those many years ago.
The celebrations did not last very long into the next day, as a body was found floating in the waves
along the beach. The body belonged to Andre Petrov, a well-known Russian writer, who was also a
guest at the hotel on the island. The deadly deed was accomplished by someone who had taken a
large branch and then proceeded to smash Petrov over the head. The clue provided by some
footprints in the sand indicate that Petrov did not have a chance, as the perpetrator came up from behind to do him in.
Petrov was known to side with the Bolsheviks in opposition to the Czarist regime during the time of Revolution in Russia. He was very vocal with his political views and openly supported the cause of the common folk, both in his country and to the rest of the world. He was allowed to travel to
America by the Russian Government, to speak about the great thing’s communism can achieve.
Nobody knows why he made the stop over to Lia Island, it was not listed on his schedule for the visit. He suddenly decided to break from the plans made to visit this undisturbed part of Florida. He joined a diverse gathering of visitors that were also checking into the Islands Hotel. The only way to discover the truth behind his murder would be to tread carefully amongst the suspects and to slowly piece together the reason for Petrov’s savage murder.
