Defying Gravity Minute to Win It Game originated from the Minute to Win It Television game show.

The Minute to Win It games are great fun for parties, social and corporate events as well as team building and youth activities.

The objective in the Minute to Win it games is to complete the various games as laid out in the blueprints within 60 seconds.

As time goes by the pressure mounts. There are various formats in which the games can be played. For further info check out Minute to Win It.

Using only one hand, players must keep two balloons from touching the ground for one minute. For a more challenging game, increase the amount to three balloons per player (and use different colored balloons for each player to make it easy to differentiate!). No holding the balloons!  2 players per round of competition worked well to give the players ample space to knock their balloons around.

Defying Gravity requires the player to keep 3 party balloons in the air using only ninja-like reflexes.

How to Play the Defying Gravity Minute to Win It Game

Just before the timer starts, push or throw three balloons into the air. Begin the timer when all three balloons are released.

Using any part of your body, keep the balloons from touching the floor. That may sound easy because you can move around, right? But the balloons must also stay within the designated play area while the player is trying to suspend them in the area. On the show, the play area includes all of the stage space within the barriers.

All three balloons must remain in play for the full minute to win the game.

The Rules of Defying Gravity Minute to Win It Game

If a balloon strays outside the play area, pops or touches the floor, the game is over. It's easy to lose this one!

You may use any part of your body to keep the balloons in play, but they may not rest on your body or be held.

Some useful tips

  1. It often helps to let the participants have a quick test run on throwing the balloons up. This just ensures that the game isn’t over in five seconds.
