Poems in a contemporary style, mostly, as they flow from the brain of a teenage girl.
Lizy is a teen in 7th grade. She writes poems on subjects for which she becomes passionate for some reason.
Rebirth is a poem full of metaphor but somewhat based on the eruption and healing of Mt. St. Helens Volcano. While it happened in 1980, before this Lizy was born, the whole process of destruction and healing has been a metaphor about life and an inspiration to her.
I See A Story is a poem which happened when a teacher tried to inspire students to read. Lizy wrote this poem which described why she loves to read.
The poem about Catherine The Great, a limerick with 10 verses(!), resulted from an assignment to write a limerick, and Lizy's reading about various queens and princesses of Europe.
Art is a poem which came from a impassioned moment of trying to describe to other students why Lizy loves to express herself in art forms. She consistently gets top grades in her art classes.
The poem titled "The World and I" is a reflection during difficult moments. Most teens have a few of them.
We hope you liked this limerick poem. Lizy hasn't written too many of them yet, but soon we may have another limeric poem.
